I started this scarf while relaxing during the holiday at a resort on the Red Sea and finished it just a few days after my return. I bought a really nice variegated brown and tan cotton yarn several months ago at a local yarn shop and I think this was the perfect project for it. I have been wearing this scarf ever since I fastened off and weaved in the ends. It has recently become chilly in Cairo and the added warmth around my neck is welcome. This scarf is light enough to be worn during warmer months as well. It is just a simple Chevron lace stitch so the project was mindless and easy to do while lounging on the beach.
Cheers,
Jenn
The shawl looks beautiful. The easiest projects are the most loved sometimes. Have a nice weekend. Regula
ReplyDeleteI love the colour! I imagine that chilly in Cairo may not be the same as chilly in the uk though...
ReplyDeleteLove the colors of the scarf and that you took it by the swimming pool. I'm learning to like cotton. I think the few projects I've used it with should have had larger needles so I fought the yarn too much.
ReplyDeleteCute. I'm trying to imagine "chilly in Cairo". We've just been remarking how mild our weather is because we're above zero :)
ReplyDeleteOooo. Red Sea. Holiday. Sounds lovely. The scarf looks beautiful.
ReplyDeletegreat scarf, I do like the colors too. Ripples rule!
ReplyDeleteChilly in Cairo...well it has been in the mid 40s to mid to upper 50s F (7-15 degrees C)... certainly not freezing, but colder than one might expect. When we visited the Red Sea the pool was heated so the kids and my husband went for a swim, but it was too cold for me to get in the pool even though the daytime temperatures were warmer than it is in Cairo now.
ReplyDeleteI love how it totally suits it name, it is beautiful and you have used lovely colours of yarn :)
